That focus shows everywhere - the webmail client is among the fastest in the industry, search is instant across decades of mail, and features like snooze, scheduled send and server-side filters feel native rather than bolted on. It is the email service power users recommend to each other.
The company is also one of the good citizens of email infrastructure. It maintains the Cyrus IMAP server that much of the internet runs on and is the driving force behind JMAP, the modern open protocol designed to replace IMAP. Paying Fastmail funds open standards work, which is a rare thing to say about a mail provider.
Pricing is flat and honest: $4, $6 or $10 per user per month on annual billing, with a 30 day free trial and no intro-versus-renewal games. The catch to know is that the Basic tier excludes custom domains, so a business actually starts at the $6 Standard plan. That is cheaper than Google Workspace's comparable tier and includes generous storage, hundreds of aliases and unlimited Masked Email addresses.
