How we rate hosts

Every provider in the HostProdigy directory gets the same treatment: we research its current plans and pricing directly from its own site, note the renewal rates that the promotional banners don't show, and score it across four areas on a 0-10 scale.

Performance (0-10). Hardware (NVMe vs SSD), server-level caching, CDN availability, data center spread, and the provider's track record for uptime and speed in independent monitoring and user reports.

Support (0-10). Channels offered (live chat, phone, tickets), whether they run 24/7, how quickly real customers report reaching a human, and the quality of the knowledge base.

Value for money (0-10). Not just the intro price - we weight the renewal price heavily, because that's what you actually pay from year two onward. Free extras (domain, SSL, migration, backups) count here too.

Ease of use (0-10). Control panel quality, onboarding, one-click installers, staging environments and how much a beginner can do without touching documentation.

The overall score is our editorial judgment informed by those four - not a mechanical average. A host that's spectacular for one audience but wrong for everyone else will say so in its "best for" line.

Prices. All prices are in USD per month. "Intro" is the promotional rate, which almost always requires prepaying the term shown (often 12-36 months). "Renews at" is what the same plan costs after the first term. We re-check pricing on the date shown at the top of each review.

Screenshots. Each review shows a screenshot of the provider's homepage, captured by us, for identification and commentary as part of the review. If you're a rights holder and want one removed, contact us and we'll take it down.

Affiliate links. Some outbound links earn us a commission. That never changes a score - the scores are set before any affiliate relationship is considered, and plenty of hosts we link to pay us nothing. Full disclosure here.
