InterServer has been quietly running since 1999 out of its own New Jersey datacenter, and its pitch is unique in this guide: a price-lock guarantee. The Standard plan costs $2.50 for your first month, then $7/mo, and that $7 never goes up for the life of your account. No 36-month prepay, no renewal cliff, no calendar reminder to switch hosts.
The plan itself is old-school unlimited: unmetered SSD storage, unlimited websites, unlimited email, weekly backups and free SSL. InterServer also caps shared servers at around half capacity as policy, which helps explain why performance holds up better than the price suggests.
Over a three-year horizon the math is compelling. $2.50 + 35 x $7 is about $248, roughly what a Newfold host costs once its renewal rates kick in, except InterServer never asked for years of money upfront and the price never changes in year four or five.
The compromises are cosmetic and geographic. The website and control panel experience (DirectAdmin on new accounts, after cPanel's license price hikes) feel utilitarian, and with datacenters only in New Jersey and Los Angeles, audiences outside North America will want a CDN in front.
