Hostens Review
Hostens is a solid Lithuanian host with honest renewals, cPanel and a rare three-region datacenter choice - but it is no longer the near-free host it once was, and its pricing page needs a careful read at checkout.

Our Hostens review
Hostens is the international budget brand of Interneto vizija, Lithuania's largest hosting company, founded in Vilnius in 2003; the Hostens brand itself launched in 2016. It built its reputation on absurdly cheap shared hosting and container VPS plans aimed at hobbyists worldwide.
That reputation needs updating. As of this review the S10 entry plan lists at $12.99/mo with a first-term promo of $9.99, a long way from the sub-$1 pricing Hostens' own FAQ still references. The company has clearly repositioned upmarket, and parts of its site have not caught up - we found the pricing tables showing inconsistent figures between billing terms, so confirm the exact total in the cart before paying.
What you get remains decent: real cPanel, daily and weekly backups included on shared plans, 100-plus email accounts even on the smallest tier, a free website builder, and - the genuinely distinctive part - a choice of EU, US or Singapore datacenters on every plan at no premium.
Renewal behavior is better than the industry norm. Promotional discounts are labeled as first-term-only, but the underlying list prices are published on the same page, and the gap between promo and list is a mild 20 to 30 percent rather than the 300 percent cliffs common elsewhere.
The VPS line is aggressively priced for self-managers, with the Linux Small tier at $7.50/mo carrying 4 TB of bandwidth. Just budget for the add-ons: backups cost $1/mo and a commercial panel like cPanel or Plesk starts at $9.99/mo, which can double the bill.
Hostens suits price-conscious buyers in Europe or Asia who want cPanel and straight-dealing renewals from an established operator. Given the recent repricing and the display inconsistencies noted above, treat the exact dollar figures here as indicative and check the cart.

Frequently asked questions
Is Hostens still the cheapest host around?
Not anymore. Its marketing once centered on sub-$1 plans, but current shared hosting lists at $12.99/mo with first-term promos around $9.99. Renewal increases are mild, but it now competes on features and datacenter choice rather than rock-bottom price.
Where can I host my site with Hostens?
You choose an EU (Lithuania), US or Singapore datacenter for any shared or VPS plan at the same price.
Bottom line
Hostens is a solid Lithuanian host with honest renewals, cPanel and a rare three-region datacenter choice - but it is no longer the near-free host it once was, and its pricing page needs a careful read at checkout.
