Digital Pacific Review
Digital Pacific is still a competent Sydney-based host with strong backups and local support, but it is now a Newfold Digital brand, and you pay heritage-brand prices without the independence that once justified them.

Our Digital Pacific review
Digital Pacific was one of the defining names of independent Australian hosting: founded in Sydney in 2000, an early carbon-neutral pioneer, and by 2017 big enough to buy Anchor Hosting. Then the consolidation wave caught it. Hostopia Australia, the local arm of US-based Deluxe Corp, acquired Digital Pacific for A$52 million in 2017, and in March 2022 Newfold Digital (the Endurance and Web.com combination) bought Hostopia Australia outright. The brand survives and actively sells hosting, its site now badged "A Web.com Partner", but it is no longer Australian-owned.
What survives with it is a genuinely local operation. Servers sit in a Sydney datacenter behind hardware DDoS protection, support is Sydney-based with phones staffed 7am to 11pm weekdays and technical help around the clock, and hosting plans get backups three times a day, a better cadence than most budget competitors offer at any price.
The product range is unusually complete for a regional brand: personal cPanel hosting from A$8.46, business and premium shared tiers, managed VPS from A$32.82, reseller plans and Intel dedicated servers. For an agency that wants one Australian vendor across a whole client portfolio, that breadth is the main draw.
The pricing needs eyes open. Everything is advertised "as low as", which typically means longer prepay terms, and standard renewal rates are not shown on the marketing pages, so confirm the real year-two cost at checkout. Even the promo rates run well above VentraIP's equivalent tiers, and the value score here reflects that.
The Newfold question is the honest crux. Post-acquisition, Australian forums report the familiar pattern of the Hostopia stable: fewer local staff, slower product investment, brands run for margin. Digital Pacific has fared better than sister brands like Panthur, and day-to-day service remains solid, but the trajectory is worth knowing before you commit a portfolio to it.
Choose Digital Pacific for the Sydney infrastructure, aggressive backup schedule and one-vendor breadth. Choose VentraIP if local ownership and sharper pricing matter more. Product pricing was confirmed on Digital Pacific's live pages for this review; renewal rates could not be verified and are flagged above.
